US army military records can provide a lot of interesting information about a family member. If you are looking to grow your family tree or simply to learn more about a family members, digging up military records may be a good idea.

Military records can be obtained by the National Personnel Records Center or by an online search in a public records database. Each way has its advantages and downsides. For example if you decide to get US army military records from the NPRC, you will need to complete a formal request form. Sometimes completing this form is a real challenge. An online search is much simpler as you can find the records you need only with the name of the person.
