How to request public records from the Military Personnel Records office?Military public records are managed by the National Military Personnel Records, Military Personnel Records (NMPR-MPR) office, located in St. Louise, Missouri. This military personnel records center holds millions of public records of military veterans, some dating back to 1886. People interested in their own records or their relatives or representatives can request a military personnel record by making an official request in writing. This can be done by filing a standard Request Pertaining to Military Records form and posting it to the NMPR-MPR or submitting it directly. The form must be completed as accurately as possible as this the amount of information provided can greatly affect the time for the record copies to be sent back. Is there another way to view us military personnel records? An Internet search is not the best way to get official copies of military records but they are great if you need the records for informational purposes only or even to prepare for your official request at the national personnel records center military office. |
