Kate is a mother and wife to a simple family. But Kate is unlike any other woman living in New York. Her mixtures of belief puts her mind in an inconsistent spinning over a lot of things. Like for instance, she buys furniture at a good low price from a real estate sales, then marks it up for a good price at her Manhattan store. On the other hand, she has a materialistic problem that affects her relationship with her daughter in a way that she doesn't want her to have expensive things that she herself would actually want. She also has to deal with some conflicts with her husband in terms of how to raise a family.
