Federal court criminal recordsFederal criminal records are public records for federal crimes. Each federal criminal record is filed by the Federal Court and this is why these records are also known as federal court criminal records. Federal criminal court records originate when a federal crime has been committed. A federal crime is considered every law offence that is illegal by the US federal legislation. In simple words this means that any crime that doesn't fall under state jurisdiction is a federal crime. Federal crime can also be any crime that passes the borders of a state - for example kidnapping, tax fraud, murder, museum theft, etc. Federal criminal records search.
Generally speaking you need the first and the last name of the person whose records you want to find. A middle initial can significantly narrow down the results and speed up the search. Some public federal criminal records will also have photos of the person. These photos are called mug shots and are the pictures taken upon the arrest. What is important to mention here is that is some cases federal criminal public records do not contain all state offenses so if you are looking to get a full criminal history you need to make a state search as well. |
