Which are the public federal records?A federal public record is any record recorded and filed by a federal agency. Federal public records usually concern one's criminal past. Public federal records are at the highest end of public information. Federal court public records usually have absolute viewing permissions are the federal court overrules the specific regulations regarding public record information access implied by each state. On the other hand public federal court records may be "sealed" - unavailable to the public for a specific period of time. After this period passes, these records become available. Sealing of records is done for many reasons - during a court trial, for privacy reasons, etc. A record becomes federal when its matter is on national importance. For example a criminal record will be federal if the criminal is wanted in many states or nationwide. How can I search for federal criminal public records?
