I was flipping through bits of news from other countries, and it's interesting to find out that the amount of violence on TV in the US isn't much compared to other places.?NEW DELHI (PTI): Vijay, who was imitating his favourite action hero, hardly knew that there was a vast difference between reel life and real life and the act will take his life.?The 12-year-old boy, in the absence of his parents, reportedly enacted a scene from a popular teleserial by tying one end of a nylon belt with a grill in the ceiling of a room by climbing a gas cylinder and tied the other end round his neck.?In the maneuver, he slipped from the cylinder, thereby strangulating himself.?There's a study conducted by the World Organization of Scout Movement and the Netherlands' Utrecht University for UNESCO on the subject of media violence.?The study, which covered 5,000 children from 23 countries across the world, says Asia has the highest ranking for action heroes with 34 per cent, Africa the lowest with 18 per cent, with Europe and America in between with 25 per cent each.?In my opinion, the only reason children kill themselves or each other from media violence is due to bad parenting.?Hell, I find violence very amusing to watch, but it doesn't mean I run around and kill people.?Read more.
