A young couple in New York finds their marriage getting a bit too suffocating. Having married for four years, they realized getting married at early in life was no fun at all, and decides to make adjustments. In fact, they want to break their marriage, but in a different style. By carefully strategizing their own breakup, these couple explores various alternatives to monogamy, including setup of arbritary rules for their seemingly fragile relationship. But preventing themselves from getting too emotionally bruised was another obstacle they find most difficult to deal with.
