A film by Roman Polanski comes a story of a British ghostwriter who agrees to complete the memoirs of former British Prime Minister Adam Lang believing that it is going to be a big break in his career. As he started to make the project, it already seemed to be ill-fated as his forerunner who was also the Prime Minister's long-term assistant died in an unfortunate accident. In spite of what happened, the ghost continued on doing his job and went to the island where his purpose can be found. But right after he arrived, he found out that there was a controversy that the Prime Minister was accused of authorizing the illegal seizure of suspected terrorists and handling them over for torture by the CIA. The ghostwriter didn't waste his time. He immediately uncovers the dark secret of Lang and the issue of his forerunner's sudden mischief.
