Flip the Xbox 360 on the side and find the opening both at the bottom and the top of the sides of the machine. To remove the top and bottom gray covers take a pointed tool and push the small plastic tab within the hole carefully.

Use the tool as a lever to take out the gray covers. While you are removing the top gray cover you need to remove the rubber pad.

Taking your xbox 360 apart - The second phase

The second phase of the taking your xbox 360 apart commences with the removal of the gray covers. Look at the back of the machine and find the small notches.

Use the flat bladed screwdriver to probe in. Start on the left hand side just beside the power in socket. Push the catch a little bit and then keeping the sides apart with another screwdriver follows the procedure with the other catches.

Once all of them are done you can lift away the bottom. Release the catches in the front to completely remove the top casing.

Use the Torx driver set containing T10 and T8 screwdrivers as per instruction provided in the guide to take your xbox 360 apart in order to unscrew 6 T10 black screws and then unscrew the silver colored screws. Lastly use the T8 screwdriver to unscrew the remaining black screws.
