The 200-year-old house was actually supposed to be demolished, but looks like the decision has been turned around.?Maryland's Department of Natural Resources has decided that the historic Griggs House, located in Patapsco State Park in western Baltimore County, will not be demolished as planned, the Baltimore Sun reported in Saturday editions.?Department spokesman John Surrick told the Sun that Maryland officials were "approached by a party that has an interest in the structure that has a benefit for the state." William Whitacre, a lawyer for Orlando, Florida-based Haxan Films, which produced "The Blair Witch Project," said he believed the film's distributor, Santa Monica, California-based Artisan Entertainment, paid the state to save the Griggs House, which is owned by Maryland.?I wonder if they are gonna restore the house before it crumbles to pieces though...?It is quite dilapidated.
