Teenager Richard Samuels dreams of performing on Broadway, so he leaves his boring school days in hopes of making himself a big hit. It seems that luck was on his side as he gets a incidental chance to talk with Orson Welles, the bullish and egotistic womanizer director of Broadway's first Shakespearean production entitled "Julius Caesar". He was able to convice Orson that he can act, and was even paired to rehearse with the beautiful production assistant Sonja Jones. Falling in love with Sonja wasn't the right thing for Richard, and after he confesses his love for her a day after their date, he was told by Sonja herself that she intends to flirt and spend the night with Orson.
