The story centers on U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels (portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio), who seeks out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a patient from the island hospital for the criminally insane in Massachusetts, also known as Shutter Island. Teddy suspects there is something wrong with the way hospital doctors administer treatments to their patients: radical, illegal and sinister. His case only grew stronger when the hospital refuses him access to their records.
