A movie based on a true story, "The Informant" tells about how Mark Whitacre, a Ph.D executive and rising star of Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) became the highest ranked corporate official ever to turn whistleblower in US History. After being convince by his wife to reveal what appears to be the largest price fixing activities that spans from the shores of the US to as far as Tokyo, Mexico City, Paris and Hongkong, Mark talked to the FBI and agrees to gather evidence in the form of recorded vidoes and tapes. Unknowingly, Mark was suffering from a sickness called manic-depression, also known as bipolar disorder, and doing 3 years of covert operations proved too much pressure for him that he "cracked". A sudden turn of events changes Mark from a hero to being convicted of the same crimes he helped exposed.
