The Hollywood Reporter has broken news that Sony Pictures is looking into a movie spinoff for Venom. Following the wave of success from comic book films like Iron Man and The Dark Knight, Sony is looking to cash in on the box office draw. Venom has always been a massively popular character, and fans and critics alike had mixed reviews of Spiderman 3. Jacob Estes, has already been commissioned to pen a draft, but THR is saying Sony might be looking for a new story. Should, life be found in Hollywood for a future Venom movie, Sony is sure to get the movie fasttracked. No word if Topher Grace will reprise the role.
Sony is also in works to get Spiderman 4 in theaters by 2011. |
