Rose McGowan talks Barbarella By Swift, (DT) April 13, 2008 1:43 AM PT

In an interview with MTV Movies Blog, Rose McGowan has confirmed that she is still going to star in Robert Rodriguez's remake of "Barbarella." While McGowan has always been Rodriguez's top choice for the role, rumors had been circulating that the studio didn't feel the same way. Reports that financial backers were beginning to pull out led many to believe that McGowan was not going to be attached to the project for very long. She did her best to diffuse those rumors. Despite the cult following of the Jane Fonda classic, McGowan doesn't seem too worried about living up to the original. ?The original doesn?t have a lot to go on plot-wise," she said. "It?s one thing to do a remake of something that could have been much better storywise even if it was fantastic visually. It?s another thing to remake something flawless. That way if yours isn?t that good at least yours is better than that one.?
