Muppets on a Mission By Swift, (DT) April 1, 2008 3:53 PM PT |
![]() They've taken Manhattan, sailed the seven seas in pursuit of buried treasure, and they've even showed grouchy old Ebeneezer Scrooge the error of his ways. But in their next venture, the Muppets have a much simpler goal in mind: to save an old theater from demolition. According to the still-untitled film's writer and director, Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, the story involves a shady character who wants to tear down the Muppets' beloved theater to get to the sweet, sweet oil underneath. In typical Muppet-fashion, they will band together and put on a show to make sure this doesn't happen. It's about damn time the Muppets made their way back onto the big screen. I'm pretty sure they haven't made a full-length feature since their made-for-TV "Wizard of Oz" adaptation. Here's hoping this next movie has a lot less Ashanti in it. |
