Contrary to earlier reports, Thailand's Film Censorship Board indicated that a final decision on whether to allow the screening of Anna and the King has not yet been reached.?Today's Bangkok Post reported that the board has invited "honorary members" to help it decide whether the film should be banned outright or to allow it to be screened "with inappropriate scenes removed." A spokesperson for the prime minister said among those invited to participate in the final decision are the king's personal secretary, a privy counselor, and a member of the royal family.?The Post indicated that a decision would be made within the next week.?It also quoted M.C.?Chatrichalerm, identified as "a famous film director" as expressing the opinion that although no part of the movie was disrespectful towards Thai royalty, two or three scenes were "historically inaccurate." The director also said that she believes "Thai people may find [it] difficult to accept ...?that Anna gave the King advice on almost every issue.?This is not true."
