Zooey Deschanel is DG in Sci-Fi Channel's upcoming miniseries based on a little cult-classic called The Wizard of Oz. Get it? "DG"? And on the strength of previous attempts at this sort of thing, my DVR is set to record, baby. IGN has a new set of stills from the miniseries, which premieres Dec. 2. Click here for the pictures. In addition to Zooey, Tin Man stars Alan Cumming, Neal McDonough, Richard_Dreyfuss, and Kathleen Robertson. Karin Konoval plays the Wicked Witch. Dreyfuss plays the Wizard character, Cumming is the Scarecrow character and McDonough is the Tin Man character. Raoul Trujillo plays the Cowardly Lion character. But they're all called different things in the miniseries, and for the most part the new names aren't as clever as "DG." The first part in the series airs Dec. 2 on Sci-Fi. Looks like the network has it set for heavy repeats throughout the week, too.
