Ghostbusters 3 Is a Video Game! UPDATED! By Charley, (DT) November 14, 2007 10:08 PM PT |
Game Informer revealed their latest cover today, and what many fanboys have patiently been waiting for was finally confirmed ... sort of. Turns out the anticipated sequel to the Ghostbusters series is a freaking video game, not a live-action film, not even a CGI feature. A game. But will it be good?Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Dan Aykroyd will reprise their roles, voicing their characters in the game adaptation, so that's cool. Ramis and Aykroyd are penning the script, so that's also cool. These guys are clearly not just phoning in some voice work. Who knows, it could be good. A movie would have been fun, but the guys are looking a little aged to be chasing ghouls around New York, plus some studio probably would have effed it up trying to appeal to the kids. Variety reports the game is headed to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, and the the publisher is hoping to make a series of Ghostbusters games. The first is set for a fall 2008 release. Maybe a game was the way to go. What do you think? UPDATE: The folks at Kotaku got their hands on a pretty cool screenshot from the Ghostbusters game. |
