Although television news magazines traditionally do not pay the movie stars they interview, ancillary costs can be substantial, USA Today indicated today (Wednesday), noting that CBS's 60 Minutes II is considering contesting a bill for $12,000 from Jodie Foster's hair and makeup people related to her recent two-day shoot for the show.?"It took us by surprise," 60 II's executive producer, Jeff Fager, told the newspaper.?"It was an outrageous amount of money." But Rob Wallace, who produced the piece for 60 Minutes II and who previously worked on ABC's 20/20, recalled that the show paid Barbra Streisand (needed alot of make-up :)) and Elizabeth Taylor's makeup artists $5,000 a day.?"It's not outrageous for [the movie] business," he said.?"It's just outrageous from our point of view."
