Producers attending the Sundance Film Festival next month will be able to watch would-be filmmakers and writers from all over the world pitching ideas for films on an Internet site, ShowBIZData.?A statement issued by the site on Friday said that it had devised a contest, The WorldWide Pitch Festival, in which the best 2-5-minute video pitch, selected by a jury, will be awarded "a chance to participate in a million-dollar production deal." In addition to presenting videos submitted online, organizers of the pitch festival, which is scheduled to run concurrently with Sundance from Jan.?21-29, will be videotaping pitches by filmmakers at the site of the Park City, UT event itself.?Friday's statement quoted ShowBIZData chief Oliver Eberle as saying, "People outside of the Hollywood system will now have a chance to get movie ideas in front of industry insiders they generally have no access to."
