Box Office Likely To Set Holiday Record

Exhibitor Relations chief Paul Dergarabedian is predicting that the box office will set a record of about $200 million for the five-day holiday, with Toy Story accounting for more than $50 million of that amount.?The record was set last year with a total take of $186 million.?Noting that Disney has managed to lay claim to first place at the box office over the Thanksgiving holiday since 1994, Dergarabedian told today's (Friday) New York Times, that Disney is poised to make it six in a row.?"Toy Story is kind of a 'can't lose' proposition," he said.
