NEWS: BOND Gets Writer Haggis & IZZARD's Evil!

Haggis (the writer, not the national dish of Scotland made with sheep's stomach) was nominated for an Oscar for his work on "Million Dollar Baby." The latest in the bond franchise is based on Ian Fleming's 1953 novel and will be directed by Martin Campbell. Read more here. Director Campbell is best known for his work on "Goldeneye" and "The Mask of Zorro."

Comedian Eddie Izzard joins an all star cast for "Super Ex," a story of a man who discovers his girlfriend is a superhero and decides to dump her after she becomes needy and controlling. She then uses her superpowers to make his life hell. Izzard plays the villain, while Uma Thurman and one of the Wilson brothers play the romantic leads (I'm not sure which because THR reports that it's Owen, while IMDB reports it's Luke. It's probably Owen as IMDB is not notoriously the most reliable source, particularly early in a film's production process.) Reitman's long list of credits includes "Ghost Busters," "Kindergarten Cop" and "Evolution."

"Casino Royale," despite having no Bond as of yet, is due out October 2006 and "Super Ex" is slated for a July 2006 release.
