On monday eMachines announced a $999 laptop with a 400MHz K6-2 proc, 32M o' RAM, a 4.3G hard drive, 24x cdrom, floppy, two USB ports, a 56K modem, a 2M 3d (which vendor, I know not) graphics chipset, two type II pc card slots, PCI audio, and builtin speakers.?And it comes with a bunch of megasloth products that you might be able to return if you don't use them.?The cool part is that it uses a cheap display technology called HPA (High Performance Addressing) LCD.?It isn't the highest quality, but it's very efficient, and pretty cheap.?And it doesn't look too bad.?Read more...
