SAM RAIMI Talks EVIL DEAD SEQUEL!
By Charley, (DT)

Raimi would not be directing the sequel, however, a fact that had many die hard fans howling. ?Adding to the purists' woes was the realization that actor Bruce Campbell would not reprise his role as the main character, Ash, who gave the film its legs--as well as teeth, claws, and boom stick, if you know what I mean.

Raimi told Zap2it.com that he intends to make a fourth "Evil Dead" film, "whenever the Spider-Man jobs end." ?"That's something I'm really looking forward to," he said.

Raimi would not speculate on whether he would be directing "Spider-Man" films beyond the third installment, which he already has 50 pages of a draft for. ?"I don't want to assume that they would hire me to direct the fourth or fifth one. I would love to direct them if they ask me," he said.

So fans of "The Evil Dead" might be waiting some time before seeing a fourth installment to the series that is directed by its original creator. ?In the meantime, perhaps the remake will appetize and give Bruce Campbell plenty of time to get back into fine physical comedy condition for "Evil Dead 4."
