WB Politics Delay THREE KINGS Re-release

WB Politics Delay Three Kings Re-releaseBad news for director David O. Russell and his shocking and brilliant 1999 movie Three Kings. Warner Brothers had planned a fall re-release of the film starring George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg and Ice Cube but has now delayed the special editon and DVD after they deemed Russell's documentary "totally inappropriate" for release in the current political climate by Warner Brothers.

The documentary entitled 'Soldiers Pay' was set to be included in the DVD disc set and played (before?) the film in the theatrical re-releases.

WB Spokesperson Barbara Brogliatti said: "This came out to be a documentary that condemns, basically, war. This is supposed to be a special edition of Three Kings not a polemic about war."

Studio executives are now handing the now finished and paid for documentary back to Russell to distribute independently. "It was definitely a surprise and a disappointment," Russell said. "But they are being very gracious and letting me take it back."

David O. Russell is currently finalizing the nutty comedy I Heart Huckabees.
