ALIEN VS PREDATOR DVD Details

According to a tipster who was at the Q&A, "Anderson was obviously very annoyed at the way the film was released." ?Cut by the studio, the final film and its PG-13 rating changed Anderson's vision of an adult, crappy movie into a family-style, crappy movie. ?Because of that, there will be an R-rated Director's Cut when the DVD comes out. ?Apparently Anderson claimed that he thought he was making an R-rated movie until three weeks before the release.

Unfortunately, that may not be enough to please fans. ?Will seeing some human blood really turn this movie around? ?Does the Director's Cut leave out the hilariously ridiculous, unlikely pair/"buddy-cop" moments? ?Was it the studio's editing that gave screen time to unbelievable plot elements, like an alien using its partially severed tail as an acid slingshot? ?Does the Director's Cut give us credit as fans of either franchise?

I doubt it. ?But for those who are willing to give Anderson's movie a second chance, the DVD will include an entire subplot that was cut from the theatrical release version of the movie. ?It seems that Anderson is strongly suggesting that the subplot really completes the film, but was cut due to time constraints.

Hedging aside, Anderson does back up some of the more glaring plot deficiencies and, although his explanations don't make the movie better for me, at least he is standing by some of the stupid decisions he made. ?Read the full article below for more details.

When asked why he veered so far from the original stories, comic books, etc., Anderson said that he wanted to make the film his own. ?In that endeavor he was successful, I suppose. ?And since he has put so much effort into making the film his own, I say he can just have it.
