Meanwhile, the credible cast continues to grow with Elva Oskolafsdottir being the latest actress to join as the sea-hag.

Gerard Butler- who will lead the cast- remains defiant that revelations about his sexuality will not have any effect on the success of the project. Wendy Ord, a Second Unit Director on the project and close friend of Butler, said at the Ischia Film Festival: ?Gerard?s sexuality does not in any way make discredit his masculinity and we are going to be supporting him all the way?

The exact date of filming for Beowulf is set for the 30th August and will begin in Iceland. For those that just can't wait to see the Danish hero in action, they had better catch the Season Six re-runs of Xena:Warrior Princess which sees the formidable Lucy Lawless pitted against the man himself.
