"Seinfeld" finally coming to DVD

The rumors are true: ?Jerry Seinfeld announced the release of the "Seinfeld Season 1" DVD during an interview with Jay Leno this week.

The "Seinfeld" DVD rumors have been widespread since the show did its last episode in 1998. ?During his stand up tours, Seinfeld consistently cited financial reasons for not releasing the series on DVD. ?During his last tour, however, fans began to come home from his shows saying that he had hinted at a "Seinfeld" DVD in development. ?

The first box set, which was delayed due to a dispute over money between the show's four stars, will be released in November of 2004. ?Just in time for you to give it to me for Christmas.

Jerry Seinfeld and Michael Richards were both on board to do a comentary track for the DVD, but Julia Louis Dreyfuss and Jason Alexander held out for a larger cut of the profits and an increase in the apparently miniscule fees they were offered to do the commentary work.
