THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW Gets Vice-Presidential Endorsement
By Charley, (DT)
May 11, 2004 2:53 PM PT
The former Vice President confirms that scientists are right when they say that "The Day After Tomorrow" takes some creative license where actual science is concerned, but he also wants the American people to be shocked into recycling when the movie hits theaters this summer.

Gore told the associated press, "It's an emergency that seems to be unfolding in slow motion, but it actually is occurring very swiftly." ?He then added, "Not as swiftly as the movie portrays, but swiftly in the context of human history."

Gore's use of the upcoming summer blockbuster as a vehicle to send a political message is not a unique strategy. ?The unique part about Gore using this piece of pop culture is that he has never even seen the movie. ?He does hope to get an advanced screening copy, though--perhaps to make sure his pre-established stance on the movie and its implications is correct. ?Nice work, Al. ?The American people always appreciate a half-assed effort.
