Macromedia to Merge with Andromedia

Macromedia annouced in New York at the Fall Internet World '99 convention.?that it will be merging with Andromedia maker of e-commerce software for the Internet.?Andromedia, based in San Francisco, makes software that analyzes data about Web site visitors.?It also allows Web sites to be customized based on the data about the user.?Terms of the deal were not announced.?The purchase is part of Macromedia's strategy announced Thursday to integrate its Web authoring software with that of Andromedia's and several other companies.?The new infrastructure delivers solutions for each step of the Web content lifecycle.
