Dreamcast game machine maker Sega Enterprises said Thursday it would spin off a network business based on the 128-bit game machine to an affiliate, aiming to tap the fast-growing market for Internet-related services.?Sega said it decided on the spin-off as it expects the network business, including online game-playing, electronic commerce and advertising, to expand in the future.?As Dreamcast faces the challenge of an upgraded PlayStation from Sony Corp next March, Sega also hopes to bolster sales by expanding network-related contents offered through the game machine, a spokesman said.?It has already hammered out a series of ventures such as auto sales and horse-betting to exploit the game machine's Internet-access capabilities.?Read More...
