Notorious B.I.G, Tupac and Sylvester Stallone By Loath, (DT) June 9, 2003 7:06 PM PT

Stallone is set to play LAPD detective Russel Poole in a film which he will write, direct and star in about the deaths of Notorious B.I.G and Tupac Shakur. Shakur was gunned down as he drove down a Las Vegas street in 1996, while BIG was shot in Los Angeles six months later. The film is tentatively titled "Rampart Scandal" after a graft scandal that rocked the LAPD in recent years. Several officers from the LAPD's Rampart Division have been suspended or put on trial for planting evidence during anti-gang operations and engaged in drug trafficking. Stallone was holding negotiations with rap music mogul Marion " Suge" Knight, whose Death Row record label represented both rappers, about playing himself in the picture.
