Colin Powell Bites Thumb at France By SKillBot, (DT) April 23, 2003 9:15 AM PT

As part of the Bush Administration's campaign for making the US look like a nation of spoiled jackasses, Powell confirms that "there are consequences for standing up to the United States" and that "We have to look at all aspects of our relationship with France in light of this". How cleverly he forgets that without the assistance of France in the American Revoution, Powell wouldn't have such a nation from which to leverage his power as a complete jackass in going along with the "patriotic" anti-French sentiment. What I see as the biggest flaw in this whole issue is the French being singled out as an official body on which to exercise these sentiments. Should these comments not be directed as well at the millions in the U.S. and around the world who share the same feelings as the French government? Really, someone show me how acting like a rotten child toward a nation who offers a voice of reason and no threat is beneficial to anything.
