"RUB & TUG"
AROUSING HOT COMEDY
ACQUIRED FOR CANADA BY
SEVILLE PICTURES

Seville Pictures is pleased to announce it has acquired all Canadian distribution rights to "RUB & TUG", the arousing new comedy from director and co-writer Soo Lyu.

Seville Pictures acquired "RUB & TUG" from Willow Pictures Inc., headed by Soo Lyu and Edward Stanulis, who also acted as producer and co-writer.

"Soo and Edward are amazing new talents on the Canadian filmmaking scene. "RUB & TUG" will most certainly guarantee very bright futures for each and Seville Pictures is ecstatic about working together with them", according to Andrew Austin, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Seville Pictures.

"Seville Pictures recognizes the potential of this film. ?With their support "RUB & TUG" has no limits", says Stanulis.

One of Canada's most prolific talents, actor-director-writer Don McKellar (Waydowntown, The Red Violin) stars in this arousing comedy as the unlikely new manager who tries to maintain discipline at a "full body" massage parlour. ?Starring as the massage girls are Lindy Booth (Skulls 2, American Psycho 2), Kira Clavell (Voyage of the Unicorn) and Tara Spencer-Nairn (New Waterford Girl).

Soo Lyu, the co-writer/director spent a year of on-site research learning about this little known world. ?Soo spent her time interviewing owners, managers, and clients. ?However, most of her research dealt with gaining the trust of the massage girls. What initially drew Soo to this subculture was a rumor that the massage girls controlled the management and the clients. ?The end result is an accurate portrayal of this unknown world with all the inherent humor in place to showcase this fascinating subculture. ?

"RUB & TUG" is Soo Lyu's first feature film. ?Lyu graduated with a Film degree from Ryerson University. ?While at Ryerson, she wrote and directed two award winning short films. "The Cure", received awards for Best Experimental Film and Best Cinematography at TVO Telefest and "Returning" won the City of Toronto award for Best Direction. ?After university, she participated in the director's apprenticeship program through the Academy of Canadian Cinema. ?Soo Lyu's other short films are "Falling", "The Woodcutter and his Bride" and "23 Morrow".

The original music score was created by Soma Sonic, which is powered by composer/songwriter/producer/brothers, Francois Paterson and Dominic Paterson. ?Their music has appeared in the Warner Bros. film "Get Carter" and they recently finished a remix for a Peter Gabriel song titled, "Exposure".

"RUB & TUG" was produced by Willow Pictures Inc. with the participation of Telefilm Canada, The Movie Network/Astral and Movie Central/Corus.

Seville Pictures plans a fall 2002 release.
