Camping for Star Wars II Has Begun
By Jack, (DT)

What's sadder and more pathetic then George Lucas casting N'Sync in Stars Episode II? The two members of the Seattle Star Wars society who have begun the wait for Star Wars 2: Attack Of The Clones which will be opening May 16th (that's just a little over four months).

Jeff Tweiten and John Guth have pitched their tents outside the Cinerama in Seattle, Washington. Tweiten is aiming to set a new world record for the longest wait for an event (he's been there January 1st).

"Waiting for Star Wars is an art project designed to capture the evolution and journey of one person's wait for a single event," said Tweiten. "This project also explores the issue of the pursuit of happiness... It also asks, will society as a whole fear or accept people for not desiring the things they desire, or for desiring things they consider frivolous or ridiculous? Finally, as we move into the next millennium, I wonder if our fast-paced society has become unwilling to slow down and wait for the things that bring us the greatest joy. This wait will test my mettle as I attempt to do just that."

Huh?

I remember the day when Episode I: Phantom Menace was first released, people camping for days.. I went for a day 1 showing, I expected to stand in a line for at least 10 minutes. I bought a ticket, 2 in fact (my bother's a mooch) and got a decent seat in a partially empty theatre.

Jeff and John, I pity you.
