I ran accross this story, which talks about the usefulness of reading a book or magazine on a dedicated device. I like the fact that I'm not using dead trees when I read stuff, but I'd hate to read everything on my palm3. But some of these things look pretty cool. They're easy to read, rechargable, and some include a modem. Personally, I doubt these will be popular until they're cheap enough to be last-minute gifts.
