November 18: Jackie Chan Day
By Jack, (DT)
October 25, 2001 10:42 AM PT
(EMPIRE) It looks like Jackie Chan, who is already starting to finally make it big in Hollywood, is making a big splash in Canada as well. Toronto mayor Mel Lastman is set to declare November 18 Jackie Chan day and also award the chop-socky maestro with the key to the city.

It?s all part of a series of events set to raise money for sick children and geriatric care. Jackie, who gurned for the cameras while hugging a model of the C N Tower, told reporters at a press conference on Wednesday, "Don?t think of it as a show, think of it as a party".

The event includes a charity event featuring outtakes of Jackie?s films as well as live stunts and a fashion show.

Meanwhile, another Jackie Chan project, Nosebleed, has entered redevelopment following last month?s terrorist attacks on New York. The film was set to feature Chan as a window cleaner at the World Trade Centre who battles terrorists plotting to blow up the Statue of Liberty.
