Is LOTR cash strapped? Join the fanclub

Crowdsurfer reports the following LOTR news:

If you join the official Lord Of The Rings fanclub -- started in support of the movies, the first of which premieres late this year -- you can get your name on the credits of the DVD version of the movie.

Membership of the fan club is available for one, two or three years -- and that will get your name on the end credits of one, two or all three of the films. Only on the DVD release, mind -- putting names on the end crawl of the theatrical version would mean that the credits would take too long to show.

Fan club membership also gets you a bi-monthly newsletter, and other goodies. The club is being supported by director Peter Jackson, and star Elijah Wood has signed up as the first charter member.

Membership costs from $39.95 to $66.95 for one year, depending on where in the world you live, and two- and three-year memberships are also available.

So if you've always dreamed of getting your name on the credits of a movie, but never thought you'd manage it, now's your chance: get on over to www.lotrfanclub.com now!
