Whether you?re the next big thing in directing or just an average Joe with a video camera, your chance to see your name in lights may have just arrived. ?Southern Comfort, official tour sponsor of New Orleans rock band Cowboy Mouth, announces the kick-off of the Southern Comfort Behind the Camera Contest this Friday, October 5, 2001. ?In partnership with RollingStone.com, the leading authority on music and popular culture, the contest awards one winner* a five-night stay in New Orleans as well as a ?$10,000 budget (cost of film crew, equipment and editing is already covered) to direct a professional music video with New Orleans? biggest home grown rock band, Cowboy Mouth. ?The winner?s video will be exclusively debuted nationwide on RollingStone.com, offering anyone with a passion for music and film a rare opportunity to win widespread recognition in the entertainment industry.

To officially enter, visit http://www.musicvideocontest.com - agree to the contest rules and download the MP3 file of the song ?Jenny Says? by Cowboy Mouth. ? Develop a 1-2 page (typed) creative concept for a music video set to ?Jenny Says? with a New Orleans backdrop, that can be filmed over a two-day period with Cowboy Mouth?s participation. ? Develop a realistic, typed, line-item budget of no more than $10,000, detailing the costs behind the music video concept. It is not necessary to budget for a video production company, cameras, or lighting equipment, as that will be provided for the winning entry. Budgets should include costumes, permits, props, etc. A sample budget will be available at http://www.musicvideocontest.com ? Send in a demo video tape demonstrating your video-directing ability (no more than 4 minutes long) or shoot a homemade video bringing your concept to life, giving judges a sense of your directing and camera composition ability. ?
