Curious George, The Movie By Acheron, (DT) July 31, 2001 2:31 PM PT |
|
(E!) Curious George, the monkey from the widely popular children's book series, is heading to the silver screen with Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment.
It was originally scheduled to be done in a live-action medium, but with the advancements in the CG arena, and the widely successful production of Shrek, Curious George will be all computer generated. "I tried to lick it as live action then live action with animated, but it's been hard," Brian Grazer, co-founder of Imagine Entertainment, tells the Hollywood Reporter. "George the monkey has to have power and be able to express power and it's difficult to do that with a live-action mix. I have to admit the amazing success of Shrek convinced me that this is the exact way to do it." With the success of the children's books, Curious George is sure to be a financial success, regardless of the quality of the production. Sounds like a fun family film in the works. |
