Jet Li and Jackie Chan to Star Together By Jack, (DT) July 19, 2001 12:11 PM PT |
(EMPIRE) It?s the moment martial arts fans have been waiting for since Hong Kong?s two biggest action stars first kicked spectacular arse on the big screen. Martial arts masters Jackie Chan and Jet Li will be thrown together for the first time in an upcoming film set to start filming in fall 2002, according to Variety.
The two brightest stars in Hong Kong cinema have wowed audiences worldwide since their transition to mainstream Hollywood pictures. While Chan has flexed his comedic skills as well as his phenomenal fighting prowess in films like Shanghai Noon and Rush Hour, Li has taken the more serious route, stoically laying low all who oppose him in Romeo Must Die and Kiss of The Dragon. The likes of Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme may cut it on the bottom shelf of Blockbuster but when it comes to explosive action fight scenes, Chan and Li are the undisputed big screen kings. The duo will star together and co-produce the, as yet untitled, project being written by Kiss of The Dragon and Fifth Element co-writer Robert Mark Kamen. No details are available on the nature of the project but you can rest assured that fur and all manner of household items will most certainly fly when these two meet on screen. |
