Roger Rabbit Author Sues Disney

Gary K. Wolf, who wrote the novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit?, has sued Disney for cheating him out of revenue from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which was based on his book, according to a report from E! Online. The suit, filed May 25 in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleged that Disney has blocked Wolf's attempts to learn exactly how much money he is owed in royalties.

Wolf alleged that he struck a deal with Disney in 1983, which happened after a period of two years after he published his novel. The contract that gave Disney certain rights to the book and its characters in exchange for 5 percent of gross revenue. Wolf wants to audit Disney to determine whether the company has paid him fairly, E! Online reported. The Rabbit film has made about $250 million worldwide. Five percent of that is... quite huge.
