Just when you thought the Blair Witch Project hype was starting to fade out, They release it on video. ?The Blair Witch, made for about $30,000, has grossed $120 million since its July 16 release, and has scooped up millions more in merchandising.The Blair Witch, legend has already spawned a spinoff frenzy, including a companion documentary, "Curse of the Blair Witch," a novel, soundtrack and comic book. ?The independent film is still playing nationwide in more than 2,500 theaters, and analysts expect it to generate $150 million by the time its theatrical run winds down in mid-September. ? But wait! It doesn't stop there, It will be released on video faster than any other blockbuster film in history. ?Eyeing lucrative Halloween tie-ins, distributors are shooting for an Oct. ?26 release - five days before the holiday - industry sources said. ? A final decision on the date will be made next week. ?Artisan is expected to release a DVD version of The Blair Witch Project, packed with special features, at the same time as the video. ?
