(EMPIRE) A poster of the Boris Karloff movie The Mummy broke records today when it was sold at a London auction. The 1932 poster, which was sold to an anonymous buyer at the Christies Vintage Film Posters auction, sold for ?80,750 ($115,534.58 USD) - a European record for a film poster. The artwork had originally been estimated to go for between ?30,000 - ?50,000($43,000 - $71,500 USD). It was a boom day for the film poster market - another poster, this time for the Carole Lombard movie Supernatural, sold for ?28,200 ($40,354.09 USD) - almost ?20,000 more than expected.
