The three day presidents day weekend total of $35.5 million was a 49% falloff from the previous opening weekend for "Hannibal", but it was expected from executives since the genre is known for quick declines in ticket sales. ?But the huge opening weekend sales combined with Presidents day weekend sales created an impressive total. ?"Hannibal" is a co-production between MGM and Universal. ?MGM is handling distribution in the US, and Universal will handle all foreign distibution. Total estimated grosses this Presidents Day weekend, at $147 million, were 9% ahead of last year.
