Science fiction author Harlan Ellison is collaborating with filmmaker David Twohy (Pitch Black) on a feature-film version of Demon with a Glass Hand, which is Ellison's classic episode of the original The Outer Limits television show. This bit of news came officially from from the writer's Ellison Webderland web site. Dimension Films, a unit of Miramax, is developing the project. Ellison and Twohy are scheduled to deliver the preliminary script by June 1, 2001. Twohy would be directing the project. "Demon" tells the story of a man who awakes in a room with no memory and a glass hand that speaks to him. The original 1964 television script won the Writers' Guild of America Award for outstanding script.
