Apparently, a rumor has been floating around, formally reported by the Popcorn U.K. web site indicating that Sony is unhappy with the current script for Sam Raimi's upcoming Spider-Man movie. Mentioned is the possibility that they may ditch it in favor of a discarded script by director James Cameron.

The studio reportedly doesn't like the latest rewrite by Scott Rosenberg of Jurassic Park writer David Koepp's original screenplay.

The report goes to say that Cameron wrote a treatment for a Spider-Man film in 1991, which Sony acquired. The movie, was reportedly slated to start production in January.

And as for other related news, there has also been reported rumors that Mena Suvari and supermodel James King are among the actresses vying for the role of Mary Jane Watson, for which Alicia Witt has also been rumored.
