Twenty-eight TV writers filed a federal lawsuit Monday that seeks more than $200 million in damages for alleged age discrimination by the major TV networks, producers and talent agencies.?

About time! TV shows seem to be getting more boring and stupid all the time.?I blame the education system that produces young writers, TV executives, and anything else I can hit with a rock from here.?

The lawsuit, filed in U.S.?District Court, claimed that bias against writers over 40 "has infected the television industry for the past two decades" and violates federal and state civil rights law.?

The suit claims discrimination against older writers has intensified as networks try to cultivate younger viewers and win advertising revenue.?

The list of defendants includes: NBC, CBS, ABC, UPN and WB; major producers such as Spelling Entertainment Inc.?and the Carsey-Werner Co., and talent agencies including William Morris Agency and Creative Artists Agency.?
