While filming "Gangs of New York" in Rome director Martin Scorsese justly became thoroughly aggravated with Leo repeatedly showing up on the set red-eyed, hung over and worst of all late. Repeated tardiness caused the film to slip behind schedule and eventually Leo?s conduct pushed Scorsese just a little too far.

The Observer reports that, turning up one morning, Leo found himself at the wrong end of a hair-singing tirade from the bushy-eye browed auteur, which rendered him utterly speechless. Cast and crew stood stunned as the diminutive director of Goodfellas and Raging Bull let lose a 10-minute lambasting that put a humbled DiCaprio well and truly in his place.

Following the public dressing down, Leo is reported to be the embodiment of punctuality, bouncing onto the set bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for each day?s shooting.
